A Small insight into my process and practice.
Sometimes it can just start with a old photograph. I usually select images that capture my mood at the time. But not necessarily with any real focus or conscious idea in mind.
I then hand render textures and shapes usually using pen and ink. These are done very intuitively and again with have no real focus or end goal.
After turing my image or images into halftone I begin to cut up and rearrange pieces. Working in photoshop allows me to combine a digital and organic aesthetic.
After experimenting with different colours and variations I return to the tangible world where I screen print my design. During this process many things can change, including colour, layers and layout.
